Peter Williams (Chairman) – Annapolis Capital Limited, Managing Partner & CEO
Peter co-founded Annapolis in 2006. For the 12 years prior, Peter served in executive management positions in, and as a director of, numerous public and private oil and gas companies. Most recently, Peter was the CEO and Chairman of two successful private oil and gas companies, Krang Energy Inc. and Passage Energy Inc. Peter also had a term as a governor of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP) between 2003 and 2005. Prior to that, Peter served as Senior Vice President and COO of Stampeder Exploration Ltd., a public company listed on both the TSX and NYSE. Peter has been a director of a number of other oil and gas start-ups, namely Avalanche Energy Limited, Ice Energy Limited, Glacier Energy Limited, Berland Exploration Ltd., Greenbank Energy Ltd., Breton Energy Inc., Corinthian Energy Corp., Caltex Energy Inc., Bulldog Oil & Gas Inc. and Evolve Exploration Ltd. Peter is also currently a director of Highrock Energy Ltd., Hawk Exploration Ltd., Caltex Resources Ltd. and Venturion Oil Limited, sitting as Chairman of Corinthian. Prior to entering the oil and gas industry, Peter practiced law at Bennett Jones for 11 years. Peter earned a B.A. (economics) in 1974 and an LL.B. in 1981, both from Dalhousie University.
Nancy L. Smith – ARC Financial Corp., Managing Director, Finance & Planning
Nancy’s responsibilities at ARC Financial include finance and risk management, strategic planning, investor relations, and legal and regulatory compliance. Nancy is a member of ARC’s Executive, Investment and Strategy committees. She also currently represents ARC on the Board of Canbriam Energy Inc.
- Joined ARC in 1999 as Chief Financial Officer after nine years in the oil and gas industry and four years in corporate banking.
- Prior to ARC, worked with a major integrated oil company in various executive roles in financial management and upstream marketing.
- Education includes a B.A. (Economics) and an M.B.A. (Finance) from the University of Alberta, the Canadian Securities Course and the Institute of Corporate Directors Program.
- Former member of the Board of the Directors of Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society and Alberta Theater Projects.
Andrew L. Evans, P.Geol. – ARC Financial Corp., Senior Vice-President & Director
Andy’s responsibilities at ARC Financial are focused on new deal origination and execution in the exploration and production business. He also has responsibilities in portfolio monitoring and exit. Andy also currently represents ARC on the boards of Platino Energy Corp. and Sitka Exploration Ltd.
- Joined ARC in 2004, with 14 years of operating company experience in the oil and gas business.
- Experience includes domestic and international assignments in exploration and development and geology, and management roles in international exploration and new ventures.
- Education includes an M.B.A. and Ph.D. in Geology from Stanford University and a B.A. in Earth Science from Dartmouth College.
- Certified Petroleum Geologist and a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA).
- Certified Petroleum Geologist and a member of the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta.
Dan Botterill, P.Eng. – Independent Businessman
Dan was President & Chief Executive Officer of Berens Energy Ltd. from May, 2007 until it’s successful sale to Petrobakken in February, 2010. Dan originally joined Berens at inception in July 2003 as President and Chief Operating Officer. Under his leadership, the Berens Team successfully grew the company to over 4,000 boepd through profitable development & exploration activity as well as creating a significant land position for the company in the Pembina Cardium play. Prior thereto, Dan was Senior Vice President with Samson Canada Limited where for five years he had been responsible for Samson’s Canadian operations. During his term, Samson Canada grew from 7,000 to 20,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day through profitable development, exploration and acquisitions. He has over 30 years of diversified oil and gas engineering and business experience and has a track record of economically achieving production growth through exploration and production activities as well as through acquisitions. Dan has a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Manitoba.
Thomas M. Bieschke P.Eng. P.E. – Caltex Resources Ltd., President & CEO
Tom is a professional engineer with 16 years of diverse experience in the oil and gas industry across basins in Western Canada and the United States. Prior to co-founding Caltex Resources Ltd., Tom co-founded Caltex Energy Inc. and as President & CEO led its growth through the drill-bit and acquisitions from start-up to production levels greater than 11,500 boe/day when the company was sold to Crew Energy Inc. in July 2011. Prior to Caltex, he was co-founder and Sr. Vice President Natural Gas of Krang Energy Inc., a private start-up where he was responsible for all aspects of strategy and execution for the gas business and was instrumental in the growth of the company’s production from start-up to 5,000 boe/day prior to its sale to Viking Energy Trust in 2005. Previously, he had various technical and management roles with Burlington Resources in Calgary and Midland, Texas. Tom received Bachelor of Science Degrees in Petroleum and Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University in 1996. In addition to Caltex Resources Ltd., Tom is also currently a director of privately held Compass Well Services, a Texas-based pressure pumping company.
Colin W. G. Davies P.Eng. – Corinthian Exploration Corp., President & CEO
Colin is a professional engineer with over twenty five years of diverse experience in the oil and gas industry. Prior to co-founding Corinthian Exploration, he was co-founder, President & CEO and Director of Corinthian Energy Corp., a private company with oil and gas assets located in Alberta, Manitoba, and British Columbia that grew to 1300 boe/d prior to its sale to Surge Energy Inc. in 2010. Prior thereto, he spent five years as Vice President, Operations and COO of Acanthus Resources Ltd., a private oil and gas company where he was responsible for all aspects of engineering and operations and was instrumental in the growth of the company’s production from approximately 500 boe/d to 3500 boe/d prior to the company’s sale in September, 2004 to Baytex Energy Trust. Colin has also held technical and management positions at WestCastle Energy Trust, Stampeder Exploration, and PanCanadian Petroleum. Colin received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Calgary in 1988.
Colin is also currently a Director of Surge Energy Inc.
Keith W. Templeton – Burstall Winger LLP, Partner
Keith practices business law, primarily in the energy and commercial areas. Mr. Templeton is Burstall Winger’s senior oil and gas lawyer and acts for several energy firms, both public and private, including large multi-nationals, in both domestic and cross border energy transactions. He has extensive experience in transactions related to the energy industry, including the acquisition, disposition and operation of energy assets as well as joint venture and corporate finance matters. Mr. Templeton serves on the boards of both public and private entities as well as being the corporate secretary for several corporations. Mr. Templeton is a member of the bars of Alberta, Saskatchewan and the North West Territories.
Mr. Templeton received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Calgary in 1984 and a Bachelor of Laws from Dalhousie University in 1987.
